 Announcing the 2022/2023 Collie Western Riding Association Elected Committee

Congratulations on your marriage earlier this year!

Matt and Andy are supporting Collie Western Riding Association and the NRHA Oceania WA State Championship for the 3rd year in a row!

The perpetual trophy and rug will be up for grabs at the State Show!

Look out for October! Matt will be visiting WA to hold a clinic! Perfect timing to join in and prepare for the State show!

It's that time of year again! The traditional CWRA Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 1st April! 

The hunt will start at afternoon tea break of the club day. 

Donations of eggs are welcome.

Bring anyone along that likes chocolate! let Marie know if you're coming so we can ensure there will be plenty to go around!

Collie Western Riding Association has been successful in securing grant funding to continue work on the joint venture with Collie Agricultural Society to install additional safe horse yards.

What a fabulous way to start the new year!

Have you ever wanted to contribute to the club but not had enough time or the confidence to nominate for the committee

Never been on a committee before? Here is a great place to start! 

As our club grows and our events get bigger we need to share the workload and to help support and educate members to feel comfortable to become a contributing committee member.

We are opening up nominations for sub committees.

Sponsorship Sub Committee 

Sponsorship is a wonderful way to help support clubs and events. Sponsors require advertising and acknowledgement for their support of our wonderful club. Members on this committee will work together to secure sponsorship for 2023/2024. The committee will ensure business logos and banners are displayed at events, acknowledgement of sponsors on social media, club website, newsletter and any other forms of advertising available.
A minimal amount of hours will be required to participate in this sub committee. Support and training will be available to the committee members to help guide members in approaching and looking after sponsors.

2023 NRHA Oceania WA State Championships Sub Committee

As this event grows the workload needs to be distributed to allow the hardworking committee to enjoy their families over the weekend and compete with their horses. 

This committee will have a minimal workload at the start of the year and build until the event and after.
Tasks the committee will cover are;
- Setup the grounds
- Packup after the show
- Organise the Saturday night fundraiser
- Select Charity for the year
- Promotional Material (flyers, banners, booklets etc)
- Advertising
- Sponsorship specific to the State Show
- Sponsorship, Supporters Displays.
- Announcers Package
- Show Budget
- Ordering Garlands, Ribbons, Trophies

The Show itself will be run by the CWRA Team (Show Secretary, President, Secretary, Gate Marshalls, Ground Managers, Arena Preparation) like any normal show. The additional work to make the show a "state show" will be the responsibility of the Sub-Committee

No experience necessary! 

Just the will and passion to achieve great things. Training and support will be provided.

Everyone has a contribution to make no matter how big or small. 

These events only happen with volunteers.

So volunteer and let's have a fantastic year!

3 Shows, 3 classes and 3 scores!

Highest combined score wins!

Up for grabs is a beautiful buckle for each class and a CWRA membership voucher for $90 for the 2023/2024 membership year.

The buckles and vouchers will be awarded at the AGM 2023!

Available to only CWRA members

No entry fee or nomination fee required. 

All you have to do is ride and be a member!

Thank you to the wonderful support from the Coalminers Welfare Board of WA - Collie. We now have an additional 8 new yards.

With over 20 people helping and not enough jobs for everyone. We put them to work on the next project! Removing some old yards to be replaced by another 10 yards. Many hands certainly make light work!

Collie Western Riding Association is overwhelmed and honored  to announce that we were successful in the nomination for the Australia Post People of Post Grants Program!

CWRA will receive $1000 from Australia Post People of the Post Program to provide a free meal on Saturday night to those helping and participation in the  joint venture  between WA Paint Horse Association, WA Quarter Horse Association and Collie Western Riding Association at the Ranch Versatility Clinic and show on the 10th and 11th September 2022.

Collie Western Riding Association is proud to support the 2022 NRHA Oceania Regional Championship

4 of our beautiful trophies superbly made by the clubs members will be available on the NRHA Oceania Regional Championships in October!

2 trophies will be on the  NRHA Oceania Championship classes 

2 trophies have been donated to the  hosting affiliate The Calliope Sliders for their State Championship Classes.  

The NRHA match any funds raised and received from NRHA Oceania affiliates to support the Championships to the total combined value of $2500 for each Championships!  CWRA are proud to say we have helped contribute to the show which will be matched by the NRHA.

We all know how hard she works for the club and reining! but being recognised by the worldwide governing body of Reining!

Now that’s pretty special!

Our secretary Marie Wetherell is also our NRHA Oceania Delegate for Collie Western Riding Association.

Bringing her administration, natural bossiness, organisational skills, determination and drive to help NRHA Reining in Australia grow, Marie’s efforts have been recognised by the NRHA.

We are beyond proud of our secretary and delegate!

We are super excited to announce Collie Western Riding Association has been awarded a grant from The Coal Miners Welfare Board of Western Australia to extend our warm up arena and 8 new undercover yards!  These two projects will get underway in the coming months and will make a huge difference to our club.  Thank you so much for your support Coalminers Welfare Board of WA! We are honored and privileged to receive these funds that will be put to good use to be enjoyed by many.

 Collie Western Riding Association as an NRHA - National Reining Horse Association affiliate, has the privilege to sit on the NRHA - Oceania council. This opportunity has developed many friendships, opportunities and now a new partnership!

We are proud to announce Collie Western Riding and Stitch em on have created a new partnership!

CWRA merchandise will soon be available online through the Stitch Em On website. Merchandise will be available for individuals to purchase and receive directly to their doorstep!

The great news doesn’t stop there! 

Stitch Em On will be donating 10% or all sales back to the club as prizes for our events!

We want to take this time to thank Tash from Stitch Em On for supporting our great club! We look forward to a great partnership over the years.

Collie Western Riding Association and the Collie Agricultural Society - Collie Show are working together to provide an additional 12 safe horse yards for Collie Agricultural Show competitors and Collie Western Riding Association members, competitors and visitors.

Thank you to Collie Agricultural Society for providing the land on their lease and CWRA will be responsible for removing and providing the yards.
